Could this be the dream olive munching getaway? Sir David Lean's converted French mill in Provence boasts 7 acres of grounds full of olive trees, sleeps nine and is only 20 minutes from Cannes for gambling, shopping and the beach. I think the Oscar winning director caught the mood of the Mediterranean extremely well when he first saw this place and said...

Sadly we couldn't make it to celebrate Earthy Foods & Goods 3rd birthday with them this weekend (I had to socialise! Not used to that at all. Back to work now though!!!). I can't recommend this store enough. If you are in Edinburgh please head to 33-41 Ratcliffe Terrace to sample the delights and overall pleasantness of the folks involved at Earthy. Check them out here...

We've had to clear snow, de-ice and vigorously stamp our feet again here at S&G for the umpteenth day in a row (I've lost count my brain is that cold!). The temperature bottomed out this morning at -15ºC. We're looking forward to the balmy (I nearly wrote barmy!?) of 1/2ºC forecast for the weekend.
Deliveries have not yet been effected. Last day for placing orders to arrive by Christmas is tuesday 21st December.
These are just In from Italy. They are the same biscuit as our 500g bags of cantucci presented in a clamp top preserve jar. Which means when you are done eating the biscuits you will have something to put the marmalade you are going to make in January into. And when you've done that, get said marmalade entered in this...

We've just taken delivery of some seriously beautiful North African olive wood boards. I was going to call them chopping boards but I'm not sure thats the best way to describe them. Display boards sounds a bit daft too! Although they wood look superb with a couple of ramekins of olives on or a few lumps of cheese.
We're going to pull out a few for shows but expect to see the rest in the shop after the weekend.

We're super excited about theses traditional Italian biscuits (or 'biscotti') that we received just in time to take to the Speciality Food Show in Harrogate last weekend. They have been made especially for us in Abruzzo, Italy. They are excellent with a cup of coffee or after dinner with a glass of sweet wine (try dipping them in). We have 2 varieties rite now Almond Cantucci and Chocolate Cantucci both available in 500g bags. They will be on sale in our online shop at £7.95 just a soon as we get a decent photo of them. Get crunching!

It was great to get out in the open this weekend at the Taste of Edinburgh even if the weather wasn't exactly what we wanted (I made some poor wardrobe choices on friday leaving me cold and exposed to the wind all afternoon!) I was better prepared on saturday morning though and had back up too in the shape of the smiling faces you see above. Thanks Claire and Sam, without you I wouldn't have been able to drink nearly as much hot chocolate as I did. And thanks to all who visited us, your comments and your custom were very much appreciated.

An electric srewdriver can mean only one thing... its time to put up the show stand, then take it down then put it back up again and again and again... We're about to head off for a summer long Silver & Green road trip starting this weekend in Edinburgh at the Taste of Edinburgh festival.
